 New Era In Personnel Recovery Begins

MARIETTA, Ga., July 30th, 2010 -- The new Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] HC-130J personnel recovery aircraft took to the air for the first time ever July 29 at the company's facility in Marietta, Ga. Due for delivery to the U.S. Air Force's Air Combat Command in September 2010, the HC-130J is scheduled to reach initial operational capability in 2012. An Air Force Special Operations Command MC-130J variant of this aircraft will fly in early 2011.

 Loch Ness - Monster Safety Event

Fun with a message.

This Saturday and Sunday (31/7 & 1/8) will see the volunteer team from Loch Ness RNLI hold two Sea Safety and Lifeboat equipment demonstrations between 10am and 2pm.

Kicking off the weekend will be an event at Dores beach which is being kindly hosted by the Dores Inn.

 Loch Ness relay swim by six ladies from London's Serpentine Swimming Club

Six intrepid women will attempt a marathon relay swim of the length of Loch Ness (23 miles) next week.

The charity event will take place on a single day between 4th and 8th August 2010 ( with the weather having the final say) and the team expect to be in the water for between 20 and 25 hours.

 Teenager rescued by RNLI lifeboat after prank goes wrong

Volunteer’s from Sunderland’s RNLI Lifeboat and HM Coastguard station’s were scrambled into action earlier tonight [Wednesday, 28th July] when a 13 year old boy was cast adrift onboard a small tender, by friends during an evening prank.

 Brighton lifeboat volunteers in dramatic capsize rescue

The charity's volunteers launched Brighton's lifeboat at 10.33 yesterday morning (Tuesday 27 July) to reports of a capsized motor vessel 400m offshore with two adults and a child in the water.

 Yacht Given Assistance by Port Talbot RNLI

Port Talbot Inshore lifeboat (ILB) was self launched by the Lifeboat Operations Manager, after reports from several concerned members of the public of a sailing boat stationary for approx two hours making no headway off the Port Talbot deep water harbour.

 Dutch yacht puts out distress call

 Yacht towed to safety by Fishguard RNLI
