 Tynemouth RNLI lifeboats launched to search for missing person

Tynemouth RNLI all-weather and inshore lifeboats were launched at 01:55am this morning after Humber Coastguard Rescue Centre received a request from Northumbria Police for assistance in getting a male casualty and police officers off the beach at Frenchman’s Bay, South Tyneside.

 Shoreham RNLI search for man

Both Shoreham’s inshore and all-weather lifeboats were launched in the early hours of this (Tuesday) morning to assist Police and Coastguard officers in the search for a man reported to have been seen wading out to sea off a Worthing beach.

 RNLI issues SOS after Manx crews rescue more people than ever

Statistics* released today by the RNLI show that during the first six months of 2008, the charity’s volunteer crews on the Isle of Man have rescued more people than ever before. RNLI crews at Peel, Douglas, Port St Mary, Port Erin and Ramsey rescued 56 people between January and June 2008. This represents the greatest number of people rescued during this period since modern-day records began in 1970.
